Abstract

The publication is devoted to the issue of studying intertextual narratives in modern domestic mystical literature. The relevance of studying the outlined issue is determined by the need to clarify the mechanisms of implementation of intertextual relationships between folklore tales, "classical" literary samples in the description of the supernatural and its representatives, to describe the forms of intertextuality and the features of their manifestation on the example of texts of the mystical genre. The purpose of the publication is to characterize intertextual components in the textual discourse of modern mystical literature. The peculiarities of the afterlife in the ideas of Ukrainians and its reflection through the word in a literary work are revealed. It is found that the ontological cosmic world in the idea of polytheism determines absolute power and unknowability, has special essential characteristics (indestructibility, eternity, indestructibility) and descriptive (predominance of achromatic color-black), embodiment through chthonic animals, functionality in cultural memory as a non-geocentered space. In the Christian worldview, operational rituals for communication with a supernatural being acquire signs of a mechanism for influencing the afterlife through the forces of light. The space of the afterlife in modern mystical discourse testifies to both folkloric intertextuality and the intersection of realities in which people and mythical beings can coexist. The reminiscence motif of transformation takes on a reverse character: both supernatural beings and people are capable of metamorphosis, both under magical influence and of their own free will. The descriptive features of the supernatural being are direct and indirect, which attest to aesthetic experimentation in the selection of linguistic and stylistic resources. Allusive accompaniment becomes a genre feature of the text when there is a confrontation between the supernatural and human worlds, an understanding of good and evil through a citalological reference, scientific research, and intuitive analysis.
