The paper analyses some aspects of a narrative representation of the past and the processes of a formation of its images as a problem of an historic epistemology. The author emphasises the problem of interrelation between a historic text and an uncritical reader, and claims that nowadays the most typical way of an historical identification is determined by a «client» attitude to the past.
