Анотація

У статті досліджуються літературні твори жінок-письменниць доби Августа (1690-1740), які розробляли теми кохання та пристрасті, аналізується, як їхня любовна проза кидала виклик англійському літературному канону та переформатовувала його. Дослідження зосереджується на двох контрастних традиціях: побожній дидактичній прозі Джейн Баркер, Елізабет Сінгер Роу, Мері Девіс та Пенелопи Обін, яка підкреслювала чесноти та сентиментальний шлюб; та пристрасній любовній прозі «Прекрасного тріумвірату» - Афри Бен, Мері Делавір'є Менлі та Елізи Хейвуд - яка зображувала спокусу, інтриги та жіноче бажання. Через аналіз соціальних контекстів, авторських стратегій та наративних технік, це дослідження демонструє, як ці письменниці долали патріархальні обмеження, водночас встановлюючи нові форми жіночого літературного вираження. Стаття досліджує вплив французьких літературних традицій, становлення професійного жіночого авторства та поступове визнання любовної прози в академічному дискурсі, обґрунтовуючи її важливе місце в розумінні розвитку англійського роману та жіночої літературної історії.
