The dominant concept of B. Antonenko- Davydovych’s story “Smert”

The article is devoted to the study of the peculiarities of the realization of the concept of “death” in the story “Smert” by B. Antonenko-Davydovych. The creation of each writer can be considered as a representative part of his fragmentary experience, an individual-authorial consciousness, a reflection of contemporary reality, a picture of the artist’s world etc. In particular, the creation of B. Antonenko-Davydovych can be considered as a set of concepts. The concepts are generated by the cognitive activity of the world and consist of the unity of language and culture, the influence of society and traditions etc. and form integrity - the conceptosphere.
Thanatological problem takes one of the leading places in scientific thought. It is considered as an existential phenomenon in the philosophy of
irrationalism, a search for the meaning of life, a discovery of new horizons, a philosophical and atheistic attitudes, a denial of eternity, a protest against the world, a socio-cultural phenomenon etc. The concept of “death” can reveal itself as a state of uncertainty, feelings of disgust and despair, a psychological instability, an alienation and rejection by society, loss own life goals, changes in beliefs, expectations inconsistencies with reality, a cognitive dissonance, an apathy, a murder and cruelty etc.
