Abstract

Based on some works by Aristotle, the author attempts to explicate the notion of arche which he attributes to Anaximander with no claim to elucidate the original view of Anaximander himself. The paper presents the view that it was Aristotle who attributes to Anaximander an idea of infinite (apeiron).
