Abstract

The article discusses the problem of a possibility of «strong Artificial Intelligence» — realization of genuine thinking by execution of a proper program by a computer. A thought experiment is proposed to reveal some conclusions that follow from the assumption of this possibility and make it implausible. In this perspective, the views of two leading modern prilosophers of mind, David Chalmers and John Searle, are discussed.
