The paper convincingly demonstrates that applying the catchphrase of positivism to analytic philosophy in general is inappropriate and in error. By taking theconceptions of B. Russell and K. Popper as paradigmatic examples, it is shown that principal ideas of the analytic philosophers can be essentially different from the basic principles of positivism.
