The article contains analysis of the new approaches based on the positive psychology backgrounds which are used in students' upbringing in the context of their professional formation. The article states that educational activities for students’ personal development in the university should be fulfilled within the main socio-cultural statements and assumptions of our time: the main activity of humans, the norm of their of lives should be a solution to moral problems. For many people this position seems an unusual but probably a correct one.
The author argues that current troubles that occur in spirituality, aggression, cruelty and ill-breeding of youth, slander, and disrespect for the elder generation, immorality, and conflict with the law etc. are the result of neglecting this postulate. All the efforts should be aimed at organizing life of youth according to a clever plan and focusing on the creation of models of their own positive behaviour, full of positive spiritual values. The purpose of our study is a theoretical and practical analysis of educational work with students’ features in terms of higher education based on the ideas of positive psychology considered as a condition for their successful professional development. In the context of educational work in the university volunteering is observed to become a powerful social and educational resource. The article deals with the foundations of volunteer activities in terms of higher education institutions. The results of research methodology which feature a volunteer student as a subject of public activities, his/her personal life style connected with mercifulness and righteousness, the fact of the resource potential of volunteering as social pedagogical practice, the role of leader coordinators as future professionals in the field of education have been demonstrated. The main forms of activities of a volunteer centre of higher education have been revealed. Actual services provided by volunteer students to people in need have been defined and analysed. Volunteering in the student team becomes a resource for social and educational practices, an organization brand, an individual lifestyle of students, and a model of professional formation of future experts in the field of education and applied psychology.
