The article raised the impact of language policy on the organization and content of teaching foreign languages in the school system in Germany. We investigate approaches to teaching foreign languages in view of multilingual nature of society with certain autonomy of the federal states in solving educational issues. Problem areas in matters of foreign language training as well as debating isues in the scientific area of Germany concerning this problem are pointed out.
